Can I promote my product here?
No. Promotion is banned, and the only exception is for university events, organizations, and official university announcements, which does not cover a founder or a company.

This is the subreddit for Binghamton University, a school in Vestal, New York. The people posting here are students, and likely some alumni, staff, and people connected to the campus. The rules say posts should relate directly to university news, university events, student activities, student life, and community engagement. So this is a campus community, not a general marketplace or a place to pitch things. If your post would only make sense to someone who cares about Binghamton University specifically, you are in the right room. If it could be posted anywhere, it does not belong here.
The rule that decides most things here is “No Advertisement/Classifieds Posts. Use r/BearcatsMarketplace instead”. It bans ads, selling, job postings, roommate searches, housing offers, and even free stuff, and it points all of that to r/BearcatsMarketplace. The only promotion exception is for university events, organizations, and official university announcements, which rules out most founder marketing. Then there is “All Posts Must Be Directly Relevant to the Binghamton University Community”, which means your post needs a real reason to live in this campus community and not somewhere else. “No Spam” covers repeat posts, unwanted bots, and brigading. “Discussion Must Be Civil” matters if you ever wade into campus politics or talk about professors. “Use Relevant Megathreads When Applicable” means common topics may have to go in a stickied thread. And “No Discussion/Promotion of Illegal Activities” bans drugs, underage drinking, piracy, and breaking laws, which is worth knowing even though it rarely comes up in marketing.
A good post here is one where the university itself is the reason for the post. Ask a real question about student life, campus events, or the Binghamton experience, and let the discussion carry the value. If you are a founder who once lived this world, share an honest observation or a lesson and invite students to push back on it. Keep any product mention out of the post body, and if it comes up at all, let it happen in comments where someone actually asked. Before you post anything on a common topic, check the stickied megathreads, because your question may already have a home there.
Do not post any kind of advertisement or classifieds, because rule “No Advertisement/Classifieds Posts. Use r/BearcatsMarketplace instead” removes roommate searches, housing offers, buying and selling, job postings, bartering, carpools, free stuff, and lost and found, and it does this even when you are giving something away for free. Do not post promotion of any kind, since the only exceptions are official university events, organizations, and announcements, which a founder is not. Do not post anything off topic, because “All Posts Must Be Directly Relevant to the Binghamton University Community” requires a specific reason to use this community. Do not post the same thing repeatedly or use bots, because that is spam under “No Spam”. Do not get sharp with anyone, including professors, because “Discussion Must Be Civil” applies even when the conversation gets heated. And never touch illegal topics like drugs, underage drinking, or piracy, because “No Discussion/Promotion of Illegal Activities” bans them outright.

No. Promotion is banned, and the only exception is for university events, organizations, and official university announcements, which does not cover a founder or a company.
Still not allowed. The classifieds rule explicitly bans buying, selling, or offering a good or service even for free, and it points all of that to r/BearcatsMarketplace.
No. Job postings are listed as disallowed in the classifieds rule, along with roommate searches, housing, bartering, and carpools.
The rules send all of that to r/BearcatsMarketplace, so use that community instead of this one.
Discussion about campus political engagement is allowed, but the civility rule requires you to stay respectful to fellow Redditors and to people off Reddit, including professors.
