How Productized Inc. collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use Rankhog.
Effective date: August 20, 2026
1. Introduction
Productized Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates Rankhog, a Reddit visibility platform for companies that want to show up naturally in Reddit conversations, Google results, and AI answers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use Rankhog.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, organization, and workspace membership.
- Authentication data, including essential session cookies and security tokens used to keep your account signed in.
- Onboarding and product context, such as your product name, website, target audience, competitors, goals, acquisition source, and Reddit strategy answers.
- Public Reddit account and activity details, such as username, profile URL, public avatar, public activity, subreddit names, thread URLs, post URLs, comment URLs, and public metrics relevant to Rankhog work.
- Browser-control and desktop metadata, such as desktop device identifiers, browser session identifiers, connection status, current allowed page URL and title, verified Reddit username, command metadata, approval metadata, and result metadata needed to operate Rankhog safely.
- Usage logs, including login timestamps, tool runs, product actions, diagnostic events, and security-relevant activity.
- Support content, including messages, files, and other information you share with us through the support widget or email.
- Billing records, including Stripe customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, billing status, selected plan, checkout metadata, and optional Reddit account setup selections.
3. Rankhog Chrome Extension
The extension has one feature that works without a Rankhog account. While you are signed in to Reddit, it asks Reddit for your own public profile using that browser session and calculates an account score in Chrome. The profile and local score are not sent to Rankhog. This local score does not check whether your account is visible outside your Reddit session.
When you sign in to Rankhog through the extension, we process your Rankhog email, Reddit username, extension and device identifiers, encrypted authentication information, and security metadata needed to verify signed requests. Authenticated features may also process:
- Draft titles, bodies, links, flair, post type, thread URL, and local preflight findings, but only after you choose Audit.
- Subreddit names when the extension requests a community brief.
- Public post counters and performance history. Feed scoring and its history stay in Chrome; feature-use events may be sent to Rankhog.
- Feature analytics such as opening account health, completing an audit, replacing a rewrite, or opening a performance panel. We use these events to operate allowances, understand feature use, and improve reliability.
The extension also offers an optional shared public read node. The toggle is initially shown on, but sharing does not begin until you save the choice. While Chrome is open, Rankhog may ask the extension to fetch one allowlisted public Reddit JSON page at a time for other Rankhog users. These reads cover public subreddit details, top posts, weekly activity, and thread context. Requests omit Reddit cookies and other credentials. The extension returns the raw public response status and body to Rankhog, where parsing occurs. It never relays drafts, messages, private pages, your own account-health reading, or Reddit writes. You can turn sharing off from the extension popup.
Extension authentication, preferences, short-lived caches, and local history remain in Chrome until they expire or you choose “Sign out and clear extension data.” Rankhog server records follow the retention rules in this policy. We limit employee and contractor access to user data to cases where it is necessary for security, abuse prevention, support you requested, legal obligations, or service operation under appropriate confidentiality controls.
Rankhog’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell extension data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension’s disclosed user-facing features.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not store payment card numbers directly. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Rankhog also does not store Reddit passwords, Reddit two-factor authentication codes, Reddit OAuth tokens, or raw Reddit profile cookies on Rankhog servers. When you use the desktop browser, you sign in to Reddit directly in that browser session.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data such as health information, biometric data, or government identifiers.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure Rankhog.
- Authenticate users and manage organizations.
- Build product context, Reddit strategy, drafts, recommendations, and visibility reports.
- Operate guarded browser-control workflows, approval steps, account safety checks, and desktop connection status.
- Process subscriptions, trials, invoices, and account setup.
- Respond to support requests and product feedback.
- Detect abuse, prevent unauthorized access, and debug issues.
- Send service emails and, where required, marketing messages only with your consent.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
For users in the European Economic Area, we process personal data under these legal bases:
- Contract performance, when processing is needed to provide Rankhog.
- Legitimate interests, including service security, fraud prevention, product reliability, and operational analytics.
- Consent, where we ask before sending marketing communications or using optional workflows that require consent.
- Legal obligations, when we need to keep records or respond to lawful requests.
7. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
Rankhog data is primarily stored and processed in the United States. Our frontend is hosted on Vercel, our API runs on Railway in the United States, and our database is hosted with PlanetScale.
We use carefully selected service providers to operate Rankhog, including infrastructure, authentication, billing, email, support, analytics, AI, and search providers. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
8. Data Security
We use security measures designed to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit using HTTPS.
- Provider-managed encryption at rest where available.
- Organization-scoped access patterns in the product.
- Scoped internal access with two-factor authentication.
- Secrets stored in environment variables and provider dashboards.
- Security monitoring, dependency review, and operational logging.
9. Data Retention
We retain account and workspace data while your account is active. After account closure, we delete or anonymize personal data within one year unless a shorter period is required by your request or a longer period is required for legal, billing, abuse-prevention, or security reasons. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to processing of your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies required for authentication, security, and product operation. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
12. Children's Privacy
Rankhog is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us.
