Can I promote my game or app here?
No. “No Advertising/Raiding” bans advertising on this subreddit, and there is no exception for founders or small creators.

This is the unofficial subreddit for fans of CaptainSauce, a Canadian gaming youtuber. People here post things directly related to Cap himself, like his videos, his jokes, and things he would enjoy or react to. The community describes itself as positive, and it accepts profanity as long as it is not aimed at other users. What it is not is a place to talk about the games he plays in general, or about anything loosely connected like Canada Day. It is also not a place where the creator himself participates, because the rules state that Cap knows about the subreddit and discord and does not want to be a part of it.
The rule that decides most marketing questions here is “No Advertising/Raiding”, which says do not advertise on the subreddit or raid from another subreddit, and the reverse applies too, so do not advertise this subreddit elsewhere or raid other subreddits. “Keep Posts On-Topic” matters just as much, because posts and comments must be directly related to Cap, not to games he plays or loosely related things like Canada Day. “No Shitposts” removes anything low effort, karma-grabbing, or very loosely related to the community. “No Spam Posting” removes repeated posts, especially ones like asking whether Cap should play a game, and warns that posting more than once in 12 to 24 hours had better be a quality post. “No Doxxing/Personal Information” is the serious one, because revealing personal information about yourself, others, or Cap himself results in a permanent ban. “No Hate Speech” rounds it out, since the community accepts profanity but not using it against users, especially racist or homophobic words.
Honestly, there is no good marketing post here, because advertising is banned outright. The only way a founder shows up in this community is as a genuine fan, posting something directly about Cap that the community would enjoy. That means high quality fan content, thoughtful discussion about his videos, or something you made that celebrates his work, posted no more than once every 12 to 24 hours. If you build games or tools, you can be present as a person who likes the channel, not as a brand. Keep every post clearly about Cap, put real effort into it, and never share personal details about yourself or anyone else.
Advertising anything is the fastest way to get removed here, and that includes promoting your own subreddit or asking people to raid another one. Off-topic posts about games Cap plays or loosely related topics get removed under the on-topic rule. Low effort shitposts and karma grabs do not survive. Repeated posting, especially the same style of request post within 12 to 24 hours, gets treated as spam. Sharing personal information about yourself, another user, or Cap leads to a permanent ban, which is the harshest penalty stated in these rules. Using profanity against other users, especially racist or homophobic words, is also out even though profanity itself is accepted.

Yes, if it is directly about CaptainSauce and not framed as an ad, but the community also accepts profanity so match the room respectfully.

Once, and make it count. “No Spam Posting” says anything posted more than once in 12 to 24 hours had better be a quality post.
No. “No Doxxing/Personal Information” covers yourself as well as others, and breaking it means a permanent ban.
