Can I link my travel blog or app here?
No. The rules ban self-promotional and commercial content from regular posts, and links are only allowed in the General Chatter thread when the content is non-commercial and genuinely personal.

This is a community for people who travel alone and want to share their experiences and stories with others who do the same. The first rule, “The Keyword Is "Solo"”, sets the tone: posts must be about solo travel specifically, not travel in general, and memes are not welcome. The regulars here are people planning their first solo trip, people mid-trip sharing what happened, and experienced solo travelers answering questions. The rules also show what the community values: trip reports are actively encouraged, advice posts are welcome when they include real detail, and there are dedicated weekly threads for meetups, accommodation questions, rants, and beginner anxiety posts. It is a helping community, but it expects you to do your own research first and come with specifics.
The rule that decides almost everything for a founder is “No self-promotional content.”, which bans links to blogs, vlogs, surveys, market research, fundraising campaigns, and commercial content, with one narrow exception for genuinely personal, non-commercial content in the “General Chatter” thread. “No pure image/video posts, polls, or standalone external links” removes anything that is just a picture, a video, a poll, or a bare link, so a link post is dead on arrival. “ChatGPT and other AI-generated content will be removed as spam.” means anything written by a model gets pulled, and repeat violations can get you banned. “Frequently Asked Questions will be removed. Please search before posting.” and “Low-effort posts/polls will be removed without warning.” kill generic questions and anything that looks like a free travel agent request. “Give us specifics when asking for advice.” sets the bar for advice posts, asking for at least two of budget, itinerary, interests, or research already done. “The Keyword Is "Solo"” keeps the topic locked to solo travel, and “No unsolicited AMAs.” means you cannot show up and run an AMA without contacting the mod team first. Finally, “Newbie, beginner, or anxiety posts.” pushes getting-started posts into the Weekly Common Room instead of the main feed.
The one format this community openly rewards is the trip report, and rule “Trip reports are encouraged!” even links a template you can follow. If you have traveled somewhere alone and can write a detailed, honest account of what went well and what went badly, that is the post to make. Keep it text only, put the story in the post itself, and leave any links out unless you are posting genuinely personal, non-commercial content in the General Chatter thread. If you want to ask a question instead, make it specific: name where you are starting, when you go, your budget, your interests, and what you have already researched, because the rules ask for at least two of those. Save your rants, small wins, meetup plans, and first-timer nerves for the weekly threads, which is where that content is meant to live. For a founder, the honest play is to participate as a traveler first, share real trip reports, and treat any product mention as something that only fits the General Chatter thread if it is truly non-commercial and personal.
The fastest way to get removed is self-promotion, so no blog links, no vlogs, no surveys, no market research, no fundraising, and no commercial content outside the General Chatter thread. Standalone links, pure image or video posts, and polls are removed too. Anything written by AI gets removed as spam, and repeating that can get you banned. Low-effort posts like plan my trip, where should I stay, or vote on where I should go are removed without warning, and so are questions Google can answer in seconds. Repetitive questions are removed, so search the subreddit and read the Wiki first. Rants, victory posts, meetups, travel partner requests, and accommodation recommendations belong in the weekly thread, not the main feed. Getting-started and solo travel anxiety posts belong in the Weekly Common Room. AMAs need mod approval before you post one. Beyond removals, there are hard bans: racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, harassment, gatekeeping, sex tourism, and posts suggesting or seeking advice on illegal activities like working without a visa or overstaying one. Medical and mental health questions are redirected to professionals, so keep those out.
