Reddit cake day checker

Find any Reddit account's cake day, its exact age, and when it becomes old enough for the subreddits it wants to post in.

Age gates come from published subreddit rules. Hidden AutoModerator minimums and moderators still decide what stays up.

What is a Reddit cake day checker?

A cake day checker finds the day a Reddit account was created and turns it into an exact age. This one also counts the subreddits whose posting rules ask for an older account, tells you how many this account already clears, and names the next one to open with its date. No guessing: the date comes from the public profile, in your own time zone. It works for any public account, yours or one you are researching.

What is a Reddit cake day?

Your cake day is the anniversary of the day you made your Reddit account. On that day Reddit puts a small cake icon next to your name in posts and comments, so people know it is your Reddit birthday. It says nothing about karma or quality. It only marks the date.

How to find your cake day

Type the username into the box above, with or without u/, or paste the profile link. The checker shows the creation date in your time zone, the exact age in years, months and days, and how long until the next cake day. You can also open the profile on Reddit, which shows the cake day under the account details.

How old is my Reddit account?

The checker counts from the exact moment the account was created, so the age it shows is never rounded to the month. That matters for rules that ask for an account at least 30 or 90 days old: a day short is still too young, and AutoModerator does not round up.

What the cake icon means

The cake icon shows up next to your username for the whole day of your anniversary. It is gone the next day and comes back every year on the same date. It is a small celebration, nothing more. Some people post on their cake day to collect upvotes, which works in a few casual subreddits and gets removed in most others.

Account age gates by subreddit

Many subreddits refuse posts from accounts younger than a set number of days, often 7, 30 or 90, to keep out spam. The checker reads those minimums from the rules of every subreddit Rankhog tracks and shows how many this account clears today and which one opens next, on what date.

What to do while your account is too young

Time is the only fix for an age gate. While you wait, use the time well: comment in small, friendly subreddits, build some comment karma and learn how each community talks. That is what a warm-up is, and it is what Rankhog runs for new accounts.

Is it okay to look up someone else's cake day?

The checker reads only what any visitor can see on the public profile. We never ask for a password, never post, and keep the result for a day so a second check is fast. Results are not saved as pages, are not shared and are not indexed. The username never appears in a link.

Questions about Reddit cake day checker

Is the cake day checker free?

Yes. Anyone can run 20 checks a day without an account. Rankhog subscribers get unlimited checks, plus a warm-up that grows new accounts past these gates.

Do I need to sign in, and does the person know?

No. It reads only the public profile. It never asks for a password, never connects to your account, and Reddit does not tell people who looked at their profile.

Can you change your Reddit cake day?

No. The cake day is the day the account was created, and Reddit never changes it. A new account gets a new cake day.

Why is the date one day off from what I expected?

The checker shows the date in your own time zone. Near midnight, your local date and Reddit's can differ by a day, so the cake icon may show up a few hours earlier or later than you expect.

Why does it not show a date?

Reddit answers the same way for a deleted account, a shadowbanned account and a misspelled name, and it hides the details of suspended accounts. The checker never guesses a date for any of them.

Why did it say busy?

Rankhog reads Reddit through a small pool of its own accounts that share one rate limit. When they are all busy it says so instead of guessing. Try again in a minute.
