Rule summary

  • Feedback requests go in the weekly thread.: Feedback requests go in the weekly thread: All feedback requests must be posted to the sticky on the top of the page. If you post a feedback request to the front page it will be removed.
  • No pirating, torrents, etc.: No pirating, torrents, etc.: Do not share, suggest or discuss torrents, pirated/cracked software or other intellectual property that is copyright protected.
  • No self-promotion.: No Self-Promotional content - This includes your own production work, your youtube channel, your production blog, twitch/livestreams/jams, sample packs for sale, tutorials for sale, etc.
  • Be Respectful.: Please be respectful. Many members are new to production. Many members make different kinds of techno. If you don't like someone's style or tone, just move on to the next post.
  • Low Effort: Please put some effort into your posts/questions. We allow beginner/basic questions but will remove posts that seem excessively low-effort. Examples of this could include: "What's a good way to make a kick drum?" "What are some good monitors/headphones" "Any tips for producing really good techno?" "How do I make music that sounds like [artist/song name]" etc. If your question seems like the kind of thing that gets asked a lot, please search through previous posts or look at the wiki.

Works well

  • A detailed essay discussing the concept of rhythmic synthesis and how it relates to the programming of history.
  • A technical breakdown of a complex sound design technique, demonstrating significant effort and expertise.
  • A thoughtful discussion comparing different theoretical approaches to the coevolution of machine and human in music.
  • A deep dive into the informatics of reality as it applies to modern electronic music composition.

Avoid

  • Posting any content that falls under the rule 'No self-promotion' which includes your own production work or sales links.
  • Asking questions that are considered low effort, such as how to make a good kick drum.
  • Sharing any material related to pirating, torrents, or cracked software which violates 'No pirating, torrents, etc.'
  • Posting a feedback request to the main feed instead of the designated weekly thread.
  • Being disrespectful to other members, even if you do not like someone's style.

Rules That Matter Before Posting
