Extension support
Help with Rankhog for Reddit Marketing
Fix common problems, review what Chrome permissions do, or remove everything the extension stored in this browser.
Quick fixes
- Reload Reddit after installing or updating the extension.
- Use reddit.com in Chrome. The extension does not run in Reddit mobile apps, old Reddit, or incognito windows.
- If the header says signed out, sign in to Reddit in that tab. A Rankhog account is not required for the local account score.
- If an authenticated feature is unavailable, open the Rankhog popup, sign in again, and save the public-read choice.
- When offline or using Chrome data saver, the optional public read node pauses automatically.
Permissions
Storage keeps your encrypted Rankhog sign-in, preferences, short-lived caches, and authenticated local history. Access tokens are encrypted with a non-extractable key held in this Chrome profile.
Alarms schedules a background timer for the optional public read node. It is not a notification or audible alarm and does not expose browsing history.
Reddit host access lets the extension run on Reddit, read your own public profile with your Reddit session, and perform allowlisted public JSON reads when sharing is enabled. Rankhog host access is used for sign-in and authenticated features.
Privacy controls and deletion
Open the Rankhog toolbar popup to turn “Share public Reddit pages” off. This clears the keepalive alarm and disconnects the public read node.
Choose “Sign out and clear extension data” to remove the encrypted token, encryption and device keys, device identifiers, sharing choice, profile and appeal caches, local performance history, and feature funnel data from Chrome.
