Reddit MCP for Cursor

Run your Reddit marketing from Cursor

Ship something in Cursor, then tell the people asking for it on Reddit. Add Rankhog in one click and Cursor finds the threads where it fits and drafts the replies.

Rankhog writes in each subreddit's style and checks the rules. Your accounts send only after you allow it, at a human pace.

  • One click to add, one sign-in.
  • Replies about what you just built.
  • Every send paced and checked.

Add Rankhog to Cursor

About a minute. You need a Rankhog sign-in, which is free.

  1. Click Add Rankhog to Cursor.

    Your browser asks to open Cursor. Allow it, and Cursor shows Rankhog ready to install.

  2. Click Install.

  3. Sign in.

    In Cursor Settings, MCP, click Needs login next to rankhog and sign in to Rankhog in your browser.

  4. Sign in to Rankhog and allow it.

    Pick your organization and what your AI may do. Every box starts ticked, sending included. Untick any you'd rather keep for yourself.

  5. Ask Cursor.

    Open Cursor's chat and try the prompts below.

Where it lives

~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project. To add Rankhog by hand, paste this:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "rankhog": {
      "url": "https://api.rankhog.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Plans and limits

  • The one-click link needs the Cursor desktop app.
  • Cursor signs in through your browser. Allow it to open Cursor again when it's done.

Then, how it goes

  • Add Rankhog to your AI and sign in. Signing up for Rankhog is free.
  • Ask your AI to set up your product. It builds your free Reddit SEO report right in the chat.
  • Start the 7-day trial from the link it gives you. A card is needed.
  • Connect Rankhog Desktop and a Reddit account. Nothing is sent before that.
Use an API key instead

For scripts and shared machines. Put your Rankhog API key in RANKHOG_API_KEY; Cursor fills in env values in headers. A key can't set up a new product; sign in for that.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "rankhog": {
      "url": "https://api.rankhog.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:RANKHOG_API_KEY}"
      }
    }
  }
}

Copy this prompt

Paste one into Cursor. Neither one sends anything to Reddit.

New to Rankhog? Get your free report

Set up Rankhog for my website https://example.com and get my free Reddit SEO report.
While it builds, tell me which step it's on.
When it's ready, tell me what it found and give me the link to the full report.
Then give me the link to start my trial. Don't pay for anything yourself.

Put your own website in place of example.com.

Once you have a plan

You're connected to Rankhog, my Reddit marketing tool.
1. Tell me my products, my Reddit accounts and my credits.
2. Show today's best Reddit opportunities for my product, best first.
3. For the top 3, show me the thread, why it fits, and the draft reply. Tell me before you spend credits on a new draft.
4. Don't send or schedule anything until I pick which ones.
If you can't send from this connection, give me the link where I approve it in Rankhog.

Things to ask Cursor

Each one ends the same way, so Cursor shows you the work before anything goes out.

Read the last few commits in this repo and tell me what we shipped. Then find Reddit threads where people ask for it and draft replies. Show me before anything is sent.

Your AI reads the repo, Rankhog finds the threads and drafts replies that mention the feature only where it helps.

Find today's best Reddit threads for my product and draft replies for the top three. Show me before anything is sent.

Rankhog brings the best threads Radar found, writes each reply in the subreddit's style and checks it against the rules.

Which subreddits fit my product, and what do their rules say about mentioning it? Show me before anything is sent.

Rankhog reads each subreddit's rules and the guide it keeps for posting there.

When is the best time to post in r/SaaS this week? Plan my next post around it. Show me before anything is sent.

Rankhog reads when that subreddit is busiest and when posts there do best.

Several Reddit accounts. One AI. Nothing goes out unchecked.

Your AI works with the Reddit accounts your team owns, one voice per thread. Each account can have its own Rankhog address, an internet address only that account uses inside Rankhog, so it always signs in from the same place.

Every account is paced: by default about five comments a day, at least 30 minutes apart, at a slightly random time. Each send tells your AI how pacing applied. Your AI can choose to skip pacing for a send, and that choice and its risk are yours.

You choose what your AI may do when you connect. Every box starts ticked, sending included, and your AI sends only when you ask it to. Untick Send and you approve each reply in Rankhog instead. Only you can turn on autopilot, in the app.

Your accounts never upvote each other, and your AI can't vote at all.

No tool can promise an account never gets flagged. This is how Rankhog keeps the risk low.

If something goes wrong in Cursor

The link opens a web page but not Cursor.

Install Cursor first, then click the link again. Or add the JSON above by hand.

rankhog shows a red dot.

Open Cursor Settings, MCP and click Needs login. If it stays red, check the address ends in /mcp.

By Anthony Riera, founder and operator of Rankhog.

Rankhog's MCP runs the same Radar, drafting, rules checks and pacing as the app. Cursor gets the same answers you would.

Questions

Rankhog and Cursor questions

Is Rankhog in the Cursor Marketplace?

Not yet. The one-click link installs it the same way, straight from Rankhog.

Can Cursor post about my commits?

It can draft replies about what you shipped, in each subreddit's style. Sending needs your OK.

Where does Cursor save Rankhog?

In ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json if you add it to one project.

Does Cursor get my Reddit login?

No. Rankhog keeps your Reddit accounts in Rankhog Desktop. Cursor only asks Rankhog for threads and drafts.

Does Rankhog post to Reddit without asking me?

Only when you ask it to. Send starts ticked when you connect, so your AI can send a reply you picked, inside each account's pacing. Untick it and your AI gives you a link to approve each reply in Rankhog instead. Only you can turn on autopilot, in the app.

What does it cost?

Adding Rankhog and your Reddit SEO report are free. Finding threads and drafting replies need a plan: $99/month after a 7-day trial, with 100 credits a month. A new draft costs 1 credit and sending is free. Your AI can't buy credits, and it can spend at most 100 a month unless you raise that limit.

How do I disconnect my AI?

In Rankhog, open your organization settings and find Connected apps. Disconnecting stops the app at once, and it can't sign itself back in.
