This is a community for people who travel to Bali and Indonesia. The description says it exists to help you learn how to travel Bali and Indonesia, hear unique travel stories, find the best destinations, and pick up travel tips and ideas from other members. So the people posting here are travellers planning a trip, travellers sharing what they found, and locals or frequent visitors answering questions. It is a tips and stories room, not a business room. Everything you post should help someone plan, enjoy, or understand a trip to Bali or Indonesia.
The rule that decides most things here is “No self-promotion/advertisement/Spam”. It bans promoting YouTube channels, Discord invites, SEO posts and comments, and business or gambling sites. It also says accounts created only for promotion always get a permanent ban, and people who promote too much can get warned or banned too. The second rule that matters is “No AI Answers”. You cannot copy an answer from Google or an AI tool and paste it here, because the community says AI answers about Bali are generally awful and it only wants what you can really contribute. The third is “Post and comment something that related to r/BaliTravelTips”, which keeps every post and comment on Bali and Indonesia travel. Then there is “Ask Quality questions atleast a sentence or longer”, so any question you ask must be a full sentence at minimum. Finally, “Make relevant comments that add value to the discussion Be Respectful as well!” sets the bar for every comment you leave.
Post real travel knowledge from your own experience. If you have spent time in Bali, write up an honest guide to a place you actually visited, a mistake you made, or a tip that saved you money or time. Ask genuine questions that are at least one full sentence long, like asking how people handled a specific travel situation. Answer other people's questions with your own first-hand knowledge, never with something copied from a search result or an AI tool. As a founder, the respectful play is to show up as a helpful traveller with no link and no pitch. If your product is travel related, this community teaches you what real travellers worry about, and that knowledge is worth more than any post you could sneak in.
The fastest way to get banned is self-promotion. The rule “No self-promotion/advertisement/Spam” lists YouTube channel promotion, Discord room invitations, SEO posts or comments, and business or gambling site promotion. It warns that violators may get a warning, a temporary ban, or a permanent ban, and accounts created only for promotion always get a permanent ban. Excessive self-promotion gets the same treatment even if each post looks small on its own. Pasting AI or Google answers gets you removed under “No AI Answers”. Off topic posts break “Post and comment something that related to r/BaliTravelTips”. Questions shorter than a sentence break “Ask Quality questions atleast a sentence or longer”. And harassment, flaming, or doxxing breaks “No harrassing/ flaming/ doxxing”, which asks everyone to keep a positive collaborative environment.

No. The rule “No self-promotion/advertisement/Spam” bans promoting channels, Discord rooms, SEO posts, and business sites, and it warns of warnings and bans up to permanent.
Yes, if it is a genuine question about Bali or Indonesia travel and it is at least one full sentence long, per “Ask Quality questions atleast a sentence or longer”.
The rules do not say links are banned on their own, but the policy brief marks links as unknown, so treat any link as a risk and only share one if it truly serves the discussion.
Only if you wrote it yourself from real experience and it is not promotional, because “No AI Answers” bans pasted AI output and the promotion rule bans advertising.
Yes, commenting is the safest way to participate here, as long as each comment is relevant, adds value, and comes from your own knowledge.
