- Indicate your location: Some trades exist in some places but not others. Some are highly regulated in certain jurisdictions, or require formal training. By telling us where you are, we are able to help you navigate these issues
- Be nice to the apprentices: We all started at the bottom, don't forget where you came from. Don't be the guy who ruins it for the new guys. This sub was created to try and help promote the trades as a viable career path, not to shun newcomers before they have even gotten started
- No business posts/research/surveys/apps/job: There are no exceptions to this. Read the stickied post. Don't ask. You will be banned
- No job postings: While we appreciate that you might want to help workers find work, being that the majority of the "job posting" requests we have gotten are US based, and many of our members are not US based, we have decided to not allow any job postings.
- Attack the point not the person.: Calling someone slurs form behind a keyboard is not what the trades are about. Attack the person's point if you disagree. Attacking someone over politics etc will not be tolerated.
- Apprenticeship/Getting into the trades: All questions about gaining entry into the trades must be posted in the stickied thread . Include what state/province you live in. All posts about apprenticeships or gaining entry into the trades made outside of that stickied thread will be deleted.
- Generic Which Trade Pays The Most: Generic posts about which trades pay the most will get you a ban. Use the search function.
- Paragraphs for longer posts.: Please use paragraphs . Posts with walls of text will be deleted.
- Spam.: Whatever you posted is not permitted.
