Must pertain specifically to Oklahoma: Posts must contain a topic directly relating to or about the state of Oklahoma. News articles have a more stringent requirement and must be specifically focused to something occuring in Oklahoma. Regional and national news that may include Oklahoma but not it's primary focus need to be posted elsewhere, this includes where does your state rank posts. The criteria is open to interpretation, but mods will have the final say if a post is approved or not.
No advertising without prior approval.: We encourage local businesses and events to be promoted here, but any promotional/job/ad postings must be cleared through moderators first before posting. This includes: advertisements, job postings, solicitation of employment, fundraising, solicitation of donations, self promotion of a website, subreddit, social media, surveys or any other instance where money or goods changes hands. Employment posts may be posted freely on our sister sub r/OKjobs and may be crossposted.
Be civil towards others, even if you disagree with them. Do not wish harm against anyone.: Respect the opinions of others and treat them with dignity regardless of their gender, race, political beliefs, religion, appearance, or sexual orientation. Insulting, harassing, threatening, or using slurs towards other users will not be tolerated and can result in the removal of your comment and a temporary or permanent ban. Wishing harm against anyone will result in a minimum suspension of 30 days or a permanent ban based on the severity of the threat.
Title of post must match to the title of the linked article.: The title of your post must match exactly to the title of the article you link to (the title of the article from the original source, not the crosspost title). Editorializing or insertion your opinion in the post title is not allowed, reserve these for the comment section or text body.
NSFW image posts prohibited.: Posts of images that could be deemed NSFW are not allowed. This includes images of nudity, pornography, violence against people or animals, dead or severely injured humans or animals, gore, or any other image that would normally require a post to be tagged NSFW. If you believe your post may be borderline NSFW message the moderation team for approval beforehand.
News articles must not be more then a month old at the time of posting.: Linked articles or self posts of newsworthy items must be no more then a month old at the time of posting. If there is an update to a story use the updated article.
Use r/OKC, r/Tulsa, etc for local posts: r/oklahoma's focus are on topics that affect the state as a whole. Questions, recommendations, or local news stories that do not have a statewide focus are better suited in their respective city/metro subreddit and should not be posted here.
