Prohibited/Unwelcome Content: ABSOLUTELY NO: ⦁ misogyny, bigotry, hate speech, dogwhistling, aggressive, harmful, or toxic language— esp in regards to gender / sexual orientation / national identity / race /immigration status ⦁ posts or comments advocating or threatening violence or harassment; or which condone illegal or dangerous activity that might cause harm. ⦁ Absolutely NO pornography, nudity, or 'NSFW' posts ⦁ Do not post content of people or animals in mental distress, pain, or suffering

Misinformation: ⦁ This subreddit unequivocally has ZERO tolerance for posts, comments, or discussion promoting false & deliberate misinformation, hate speech, extremist rhetoric, conspiracy theories/ideologies, propaganda, cult activity, or proselytizing. Posts like these will be removed, and may result in an immediate ban. ⦁ Unverified rumours, hearsay, or rumour mongering will also be removed (see also rule #13)

Ad Hominem | Spam/Trolling | Doxxing: ⦁ AD HOMINEM attacks, or comments deemed aggressive, disparaging, or which belittle others (shaming) will be removed ⦁ SPAM/TROLLING: clickbait links, vague topic headers, repeated/unrelated advertising; trolling, or content that amounts to empty spam (petty reviews, minor complaints, etc) will be removed & may result in a ban. ⦁ DOXING: Releasing, linking, or requesting personal info of others (license plate no#, phone #, address ,etc) is not permitted & against Reddit site-wide rules.

Duplicate and Redundant Posts: ⦁ **Please use the SEARCH bar to see if your question/issue/news link has already been addressed**— posts which are duplicate or similar to existing recent content (within 30 days) will likely be removed.

Redundant / Repetitive Post: ⦁ Redundant & repetitive posts (**see also rule #5**) will be removed ⦁ posts about minor accidents, bad driving/drivers, driving mishaps, etc. ⦁ posts about Police/Fire/Ambulance sightings ⦁ posts asking "what's that NOISE?/smell", "is your internet/power out?","where should I live?" and other low-effort posts ..are day-to-day occurrences of normal daily life here in London. There's no need to post these to this sub. Major issues will be covered by local media, after which can be posted

Brigading: ⦁ **Brigading** is prohibited. The carrying over of drama, or negative/derogatory mention of mods and/or other subreddits is not permitted and will be removed— as it leads to brigading in both directions. ⦁ Cross-posts and links to threads in other subreddits are not allowed as posts.

Surveys, Research/Market Requests, etc: ⦁ NO SURVEYS or RESEARCH REQUESTS allowed. ⦁ We do not permit posts for the purpose of market research ⦁ Regardless which University, Media outlet, or Government affiliation you work for— any broad queries or posts requesting information for research assignments, survey requests, or outside links to surveys, etc, will be removed. Do not even bother asking the mods— we do not permit them.

Self-Promotion/Advertising: We support local festivals & events; HOWEVER, content creators are expected to be active members of this sub— our user base is not a pool for you to market your business, post an ad. Adverts & self-promo of events NOT based in the City of London, ON will be removed. Commercial and business advertisements will be removed with a warning. . If you post history shows prolific advertising on reddit it will likely receive a ban for adverting on this subreddit.

WEEKLY THREAD: Events | Buy/Sell | Fundraisers | Free Stuff | Lost & Found | Petitions: ⦁ Events, Buying & selling stuff, Fundraisers, free stuff, Lost & Found, Petitions— may ONLY be posted in our **[Weekly Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/londonontario/search/?q=weekly%20discussion&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw=)** or on our [official DISCORD server](https://discord.com/invite/WQqc2jM99X) ⦁ Lost & Found may include stolen vehicles, bicycles, car keys, pets, etc. ⦁ Business, commercial and promotional Ads are not permitted

No posting speed traps or RIDE programs/Do not ask for ticket advice: These programs are set up by the police to protect the general public. Posting these will lead to an immediate ban and removal. This includes speed/red light cameras Do not ask for advice about your traffic or parking tickets .

Help Wanted / Job Search / Volunteering posts: Help Wanted / Job Search posts should be posted to **[ [r/LondonOntarioJobs](https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonOntarioJobs/)] ]**. Any such posts here will be removed. his includes inquiries about internships/co-op placements/volunteer positions/employment advice/job market inquires/compensation, etc

News Links/Articles - edited headlines: ⦁ All news articles, news stories, blog posts, news podcasts, etc., must be posted as a LINK type post (not a text post) using the original news headline. ⦁ **Do not edit or alter the original headline of the news source. This is to prevent bias and misinformation**. ⦁ Posts or comments containing rumours or unverified information will also be removed (see also rule #3 - Misinformation)

RELEVANCE: ⦁ Posts, topics, & comments must be relevant & specific to the city of London, Ontario. **We will remove content that has absolutely nothing to do with the City of London, ON** ⦁ **Vague Topic Header/Title:** When creating a new post, your topic title (header) should give readers a clue about the subject matter in the main body of the post. Otherwise, vague titles/topic headers (with little to no content) will be removed. (See also rule #13 - news articles).
