Be civil - no trolling, personal insults, judgment, or shaming: Treat everyone with kindness, respect, and empathy - leave every interaction better than you found it. No trolling, personal insults, judmental comments, shaming, or name calling.

No Spam and Promotional Content: No spam, self promotion, contests, or market research. Direct or indirect promotion including surveys, polls, contests, feedback requests, affiliate links, links to free services, blogs, personal videos, or similar content is prohibited even if no financial gain is implied. Repeated posting or linking to the same content may be considered promotional and removed. Accounts promoting paid platforms or subscriptions in their profiles may also have content removed at moderator discretion.

AI Assisted Content Guideline: AI assisted tools may be used to help with clarity, organization, tone, or shortening posts, including for users navigating possible language barriers. Content that appears to be fake stories, karma farming, low effort engagement, or spam will be moderated regardless of tool use. Many parents here are exhausted, overwhelmed, neurodivergent, or dealing with illness, and using tools to communicate more clearly is valid. Removals are made at mod discretion and handled case by case.

Moderator discretion: The mod team reserves the right to remove content or take action that doesn't fall under a specific rule but goes against the spirit of the community or creates disruption.

Content from Promotional Profiles May be Removed: Content from accounts with parenting-related businesses, blogs, newsletters, coaching services, courses, or other monetized parenting ventures linked in their profile may be removed at moderator discretion, even if it does not violate our self-promotion rule. This sub is for genuine peer-to-peer support, and we cannot verify the credentials of accounts promoting parenting services.

Keep posts toddler-focused: Posts should primarily focus on toddlers, toddler development, behavior, parenting, or issues directly related to caring for a child ages 1 to 3. Posts that are primarily about adult relationships, mental health, family conflicts, or other complex personal issues may be removed when the toddler is not the main focus. There are other communities that may be better suited for these topics.

No excessive politics: Political discussion is allowed only when directly relevant to toddler care. Content that becomes overly political or argumentative will be removed.

Medical Advice Guideline: This community may share personal experiences and general health-related advice, but it should never replace guidance from a licensed medical professional. Please use caution, verify information independently, and consult your child’s healthcare provider for medical concerns. Any content that promotes dangerous, unsafe, or clearly inappropriate medical advice will be removed at moderator discretion.

No Discussion of Subscription Toy Services (Lovevery, KiwiCo, etc.): We don’t allow posts or comments about Lovevery, KiwiCo, or other subscription-based toy or activity services. This includes asking for recommendations, reviews, comparisons, or sharing experiences with these services.

No Anti-Vaccination Content: Content promoting anti-vaccination rhetoric or discouraging routine, government-recommended childhood vaccinations are not allowed. This includes misinformation, conspiracy claims, or attempts to persuade others to delay or skip standard immunizations. Discussion about vaccine schedules, side effects, or personal experiences is fine. Spreading anti-vaccine messaging is not. Moderators will use their discretion when enforcing this rule.

Use the Weekly Thread for Lighthearted/Anecdote content: Please use the weekly This Week in Toddlerhood thread, pinned at the top, for funny toddler moments, relatable stories, cute quotes, and other lighthearted posts. This helps keep the feed from being overwhelmed by anecdote posts.

No Posts About Hitting or Spanking: We do not allow posts about parents hitting, spanking, or physically disciplining their children, including posts expressing regret after the fact. Even if you recognize that what you did was wrong, these posts are not appropriate for this community.
