- “Is my child autistic” posts MUST use the “is this autism?” flair or it may be removed: You must use the “is this autism” flair for posts asking if your child’s behavior sounds like signs of autism. If your post is worded in a way that heavily focuses on how much you don’t want to parent children like ours, your post will be removed. If your child is under 18mo, your post may be subject to additional review. posts about infants under 18mo, particularly under 9mo, may be removed based on reports/mod discretion. Seek an eval through medical professionals will be the top reply.
- Student Surveys are allowed.: Student Suveys are allowed. Post all relevant information.
- Be kind, patient, and courteous, no parent shaming: If you cannot interact with kindness/patience/basic respectful language, please move on to the next post. This is a support group, and parents are allowed to vent/feel their feelings (even if they are ugly feelings in your opinion).
- Ableism and ableist language is not tolerated: In your posts, flairs, or usernames. Hateful language is not tolerated and you will be banned without warning.
- No pseudo-science or MLMs: No promotion of pseudoscience, or MLM promotion. Recommendations for cleanses will be removed, if you are concerned about heavy metal poisoning, you should seek licensed medical care for your child.
- No ads or self-promotion: We do not allow "giveaway" or "raffle" style advertisements. If you are wanting to share a product you have worked on or designed to help parents/our kids you must be fully transparent that you are involved in the business. Please send a modmail if you are unsure if you should be posting. We do not allow ads, we do not allow businesses to post ads. Obvious ads, bots and posts without mod approval will be removed. - No AI slop: No AI slop
- No ABA absolutism/brigading: No non-constructive anti-aba hate; conversely, no “ABA is the only solution for all autistic children” talk. You may express negative experiences- but you may not post rhetoric.
- No medical advice: For the most part, we’re not doctors. Feel free to share your own experiences and research, but do not advise others to begin or discontinue treatments, medication, etc. without visiting a medical care provider. If someone suspects their child is suffering from heavy metal poisoning, they should seek licensed medical intervention right away. Posts/comments recommending detoxes will be removed. Children have died as a result of these "detoxes."
- Use respectful, appropriate language when discussing our children: We ask that when you are discussing your child (of any age), you use language that treats them as a person, refrain from calling them names or otherwise degrading them. We understand that parents in crisis mode may use language that reads as harmful. We understand parenting autistic children can be beyond overwhelming. We want to help direct these parents to help and resources. Please report comments and posts that contain abusive language so we can get these parents and children help.
- No pushing your own agenda: If you are here with an ideological agenda or an axe to grind, this is not the subreddit you're looking for. This is a supportive space for parents of all neurotypes first and foremost, if you are not interested in supporting parents, there are plenty of non-parent centered subreddits available. We do not permit crowd-sourcing funds/fundraising. If you have a self-produced product you think is helpful to the community that you would like to share, message the mod team for approval first.
- No fundraisers/money request posts: Do not post fundraiser requests/money requests/cashapp/venmo/paypal or any other fundraiser/crowdsourcing links.
- AMA rules: AMA posts are permitted, if they follow guidelines: 1. Poster must be 18+ 2. Your post must include: Age of diagnosis/level if applicable, current age(ish), age you began speaking (if you did), brief summary of schooling experience (homeschool? SPED? Private? k-12?), and if you engaged in any therapies as a child. 3. No identifying info. No doxxing. Only 1 AMA per user. All other rules apply. Be aware that we have plenty of autistic parents here, and are not lacking in autistic perspective.
- No TOS violations, No Meta Posts, No Brigading, No Drama: We do not allow rants directed at "all parents", or "people in this sub." It is a violation of Reddit's policies to post about other subreddits/users and encourage users in this sub to perform an action in response ie brigading. No posts about other subs mods/bans. Posts looking for a fight or trolling will be removed. Posts looking to stir up a debate over a controversial subject loosely related to autism parenting will be removed. Users who create these posts may be banned permanently.
- No Political Posts: This is a place to help our children by giving fellow parents our experiences, tips, advice and support. Making political posts does not fulfill the goal of this sub in helping our children.

What r/Autism_Parenting Is For
This is a support group for parents raising kids on the autism spectrum. People come here to ask questions, share experiences, and get community support. The public description says to connect with parents of all neurotypes. If a parent is wondering whether their child is autistic, they must use the "is this autism?" flair or the post may be removed. The community is not a place for ads, fundraisers, or ideological agendas. It is a place for parents to help each other.
